Title: Escaping Me
Author: Elizabeth Lee
Age Group: NA
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Published: July 30, 2013

All she wanted to do was forget. Forget the memory of walking in on her boyfriend in the middle of, well, another girl. Forget how she had her entire life planned out. And, forget about being perfect all the time. Unfortunately, she was Whitney Vandaveer and despite the fact that she moved to the middle of nowhere – she couldn't.

He always knew he would never be more than nothing. No job, no money, no future. Cole Pritchett had accepted the fact that he would always be the screw up and he was okay with it. Until he met her.

Here's the thing they quickly found out – sometimes we all need a little help escaping who we think we are.

In this follow up to the book Escaping You we get to know more about Mallory, Whitney's crazy, fly-by-the-seat-of-her-pants sister. I loved her in the first book and I couldn't wait to see more of her story and if she could possibly be tamed!!

Mallory is dealing with some tough news about the man who she believed to be her dad for her entire life and news that he is not her dad. This is a beautiful NA story of self-discovery.

Since Whitney and Cole have both relocated to Savannah, she is able to travel there every few days to 'spy' on the man who is her real father and maybe gather some information about why he left, and perhaps let him know who she is and that she exists. Along the way she encounters Boone who was more of a pest than a possible suitor. He is busy trying to find out why she comes to town and she guards that secret with her life.

Once she's settled she slowly lets Boone know more about 'Molly"...her alias. They start to become closer and settle on a no strings attached relationship, the only problem is, the more they get to know each other, the harder it is to stay true to their arrangement. This is an excellent read and I would recommend it to all NA lovers!! Well done! 5 stars!

Author Bio:
Born and raised in the middle of a Midwestern cornfield (not literally, that would be weird), I’ve spent my entire life imagining stories. Stories where the right guy always gets the right girl, first kisses are as magical as they are on the big screen and anything is completely possible if you believe.

Although this journey began years ago, it recently took on a whole new life. After years of devouring hundreds of Romance, YA and New Adult novels, I had an epiphany... I should write a book. And I did it!

If I’m not reading, writing, enjoying drinks with my amazing group of girlfriends or chasing around a sarcastically funny kid, I’m probably watching television shows that were created for teenagers, while my husband teases that I’m too old to watch them.

He promised me that love forever.
Even when it wasn’t enough.
Forever. Everlasting. Eternal.

Just the rising and falling of the sun.

I see her wobble on her feet before she slowly tumbles to the ground. Her knees give out first, then the rest of her. It feels like I should’ve gotten to her earlier, but seconds of panic took place before my mind kicked into gear. And the rest is a blur.
Her friend’s standing over us while I rest her head on my lap. “Lucy,” I say. And it’s the first time I’ve said her name out loud. It’d been over three weeks since I’d learned it.
“What happened?” Logan asks her friend.
“I don’t know.” She’s as panicked as I am, if not worse.
“Is she dehydrated?” Logan picks up what looks like an uneaten sandwich. “Is this hers? Has she eaten?” I don’t know why it annoys me that Logan is asking all the right questions and all I can do is stare down at her. She’s breathing, so I guess that’s something.
He drops down on his knees on the other side of her and pours water from his bottle into his hand, and then he runs it across her forehead and into her hairline.
“Is she alright, mate?” Jake asks. He’s new and has a weird accent but Logan seems to think he’s cool so we keep him around.
Logan does the water thing again, and this time her eyes slowly flutter open.
And I release the breath I was holding.
“It’s okay,” Logan says to her, “you just passed out.”
He’s in her face now, and I want to punch him for being the first thing she sees when she comes to. I was here first; I was the one watching her when she fell.
It should have been me.
“I hate that guy,” Logan jerks his head toward Jake and a new kid.
“The new kid? Dylan?”
He nods. “He thinks he owns the school.”
“Really?” I glare over at them. “Apparently he kills it on the basketball court, but I dunno.” I shrug. “He hasn’t said two words to me. He seems quiet.”
“Those are the ones you have to worry about, Cam. The quiet broody assholes get all the girls. Better watch him around that new girl of yours.”
I play dumb. “What new girl?”
“Shut up, asshole. You don’t think I notice you watching her all the fucking time?”
I lift my chin. “I think if there’s an asshole in this entire school to watch out for, it’s you.”
He laughs and adjusts his cap. “You don’t need to worry about me. I’m not into stealing my friend’s girls.” He shoves his hand in his catcher’s glove and smacks my arm with it. “Say the word. Claim her. I promise to stay away and I’ll make sure she’s untouchable to everyone else.”
“I’m not an asshole and she isn’t property. I can’t own her.”
“If that’s what you want.” He raises an eyebrow. “She’s cute. In a couple years she’ll be hot. Guys will be all over her. I’m just trying to help out.”
I think about what he’s saying, and he makes a good point. Only he’s wrong—she’s hot now. “Fine. I claim her. She’s mine.”
His smirk is instant. “You can’t own someone, you pig. She isn’t property.”
I laugh. “Fuck you.”
Jake struts over to us. “Ya reckon that new kid Dylan can hang out with us this arvo? He seems like a top bloke.”
Logan’s gaze moves to me, confusion clear on his face. I shrug. He lets out a chuckle before gripping both of Jake’s shoulders and shaking him gently. He looks him right in the eye, speaking slowly and clearly. “I have no idea what the fuck you just said.”

Beautifully Together Blog Tour and Review

I read both of the available Beautifully books this week and really enjoyed them. My review is included after the author's synopsis.

PLEASE read Beautifully Tainted before reading Beautifully Together. Beautifully Together is not a cliffhanger.

What would you do when your past collides with your present?
Matt and Emily's future depends on the connections with their pasts. Questions need to be answered. Conflicts need to be resolved.
They face tough decisions ahead and the relationship they long to have will depend on if they can handle each other's pasts coming to light.
A blast from the past wants what was thought to be gone forever.
Secrets will be revealed.
Lives will be lost.
Can they overcome everything that's thrown their way? Will they finally be able to live beautifully together? Or will events beyond their control leave them forever broken?

Author Note:

A.M. Guilliams decided to take her joy of jotting down random thoughts and turn them into a full length novel.
She attended the University of Phoenix, where she obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice. Her passion for the way the mind works and for the criminal justice field fueled her desire to major in this field.
She’s a Dispatcher by day, and a mom to three beautiful children and two doggies by night.
When the characters are not taking over her mind, she can be found outdoors, spending time with her family. Singing, dancing, taking pictures, and reading hot, steamy novels are what she loves to do to relax when she gets some down time. She loves to take trips to places that she’s never been before and is a bit of an adrenaline junkie. Skydiving, fast cars, and rollercoasters, all being sources to get her blood pumping.

I started Beautifully Tainted right after finishing Beautifully Together. I enjoyed the story and was very grateful to be able to see what happened next in the story. Matt & Emily are a beautiful couple who are struggling to live their lives free of their pasts. Both of them have huge skeletons weighing them down and the constant drama was a little draining at times.

Their friends were minor characters, but critical to the telling of the story, but we didn't really get to know them as well as you do minor characters in some other books. Being able to see the lives of Matt & Emily as they went about living their lives with a huge shadow over their lives was emotional as the reader. I cheered for them. I cussed them, but I still loved them.

The story was endearing and I couldn't wait to see how she would wrap up their story -- if she would. I feel like the book had a great ending and I look forward to seeing what she puts out next!

My only concern for Ms. Guilliams' writing is that I wish she had a better editor. There were several places in the book where the editing was poor and distracted from the story.

I am Seven James-Parker, and this is the second part to my story

About this author
Dawn Robertson is a two time best selling, twenty-something indie author, and mother. She lives in sunny senior citizen packed Florida, where she wrangles her flock of kids and writes smut.

Dawn can normally be found swearing like a sailor, making late night drive-thru appearances, arguing with her kids (or being run over by their power wheels), reading a steamy romance while hiding in her bathroom, writing her little heart out on her laptop (or dragging her Macbook to the Genius bar praying they can save her latest work in progress), shopping for My Little Pony goodies, being the life of the party at a book signing, or sipping on a smoothie. She loves to hear from her fans, readers, and authors alike. Feel free to drop her a message.
5 Star Review
His is the last book in the Hers Series. As the last book, it takes us full circle back to Seven and Levi. The full cast comes into play as our main couple work through their problems in an attempt to strengthen their marriage. There is no doubt that this family has seen it all, but when Seven finds out she has a half-sister, things become even more complicated in the world of Seven F’n James- Parker.

Dominatrix, porn stars, strippers, bikers… and a fuckin’ partridge in a pear tree. Unfortunately any child brought into our family is kinda fucked right off the bat. I should have done better to prevent this from happening from the get go, but I can’t imagine life any other way now.

I have loved this series from the very beginning. Even though they have had many issues, the people in these books have pulled through to strive in creating a better family. Seven and Levi took you through a whirlwind romance, although unconventional it worked for them and they were able to create a family of their own. With the help of Star, Chrome, Paisley, Diesel, River, Ryker and many others the family that was created in the Hers Series is what made all the ups and downs worth it. I suggest this book to anyone who wants to whipped into shape by a badass chick who rocked Levi’s world and now rocks all of ours!

About BURYING WATER: The top-selling, beloved indie author of Ten Tiny Breaths returns with a new romance about a young woman who loses her memory—and the man who knows that the only way to protect her is to stay away. Left for dead in the fields of rural Oregon, a young woman defies all odds and survives—but she awakens with no idea who she is, or what happened to her. Refusing to answer to “Jane Doe” for another day, the woman renames herself “Water” for the tiny, hidden marking on her body—the only clue to her past. Taken in by old Ginny Fitzgerald, a crotchety but kind lady living on a nearby horse farm, Water slowly begins building a new life. But as she attempts to piece together the fleeting slivers of her memory, more questions emerge: Who is the next-door neighbor, quietly toiling under the hood of his Barracuda? Why won’t Ginny let him step foot on her property? And why does Water feel she recognizes him? Twenty-four-year-old Jesse Welles doesn’t know how long it will be before Water gets her memory back. For her sake, Jesse hopes the answer is never. He knows that she’ll stay so much safer—and happier—that way. And that’s why, as hard as it is, he needs to keep his distance. Because getting too close could flood her with realities better left buried. The trouble is, water always seems to find its way to the surface. BW Teaser 2 BURYING WATER Excerpt: Prologue Jesse Now This can’t be real . . . This can’t be real . . . This can’t be real . . . The words cycle round and round in my mind like the wheels on my speeding ’Cuda as its ass-end slips and slides over the gravel and ice. This car is hard to handle on the best of days, built front-heavy and overloaded with horsepower. I’m going to put myself into one of these damn trees if I don’t slow down. I jam my foot against the gas pedal. I can’t slow down now. Not until I know that Boone was wrong about what he claims to have overheard. His Russian is mediocre at best. I’ll giveanything for him to be wrong about this. My gut clenches as my car skids around another turn, the cone shape of Black Butte looming like a monstrous shadow ahead of me in the pre-dawn light. The snowy tire tracks framed by my headlights might not even be the right ones, but they’re wide like Viktor’s Hummer and they’re sure as hell the only ones down this old, deserted logging road. No one comes out here in January. The line of trees marking the dead end comes up on me before I expect it. I slam on my brakes, sending my car sliding sideways toward the old totem pole. It’s still sliding when I cut the rumbling engine, throw open the door, and jump out, fumbling with my flashlight. It takes three hard presses with my shaking hands to get the light to hold. I begin searching the ground. The mess of tread marks tells me that someone pulled a U-turn. The footprints tell me that more than one person got out. And when I see the half-finished cigarette butt with that weird alphabet on the filter, I know Boone wasn’t wrong. “Alex!” My echo answers once . . . twice . . . before the vast wilderness swallows up my desperate cry. With frantic passes of my flashlight, my knuckles white against its body, I search the area until I spot the sets of footprints that lead off the old, narrow road and into the trees. Frigid fingers curl around my heart. Darting back to my car, I snatch the old red-and-blue plaid wool blanket that she loves so much from the backseat. Ice-cold snow packs into the sides of my sneakers as I chase the trail past the line of trees and into the barren field ahead, my blood rushing through my ears the only sound I process. The only sign of life. Raw fear numbs my senses, the Pacific Northwest winter numbs my body, but I push forward because if . . . The beam of light passes over a still form lying facedown in the snow. I’d recognize that pink coat and platinum-blond hair of hers anywhere; the sparkly blue dress that she hates so much looks like a heap of sapphires against a white canvas. My heart freezes. “Alex.” It’s barely a whisper. I’m unable to produce more, my lungs giving up on me. I run, stumbling through the foot of snow until I’m on my knees and crawling forward to close the distance. A distance of no more than ten feet and yet one that seems like miles. There’s no mistaking the spray of crimson freckling the snow around her head. Or that most of her long hair is now dark and matted. Or that her silver stockings are torn and stained red, and a pool of blood has formed where her dress barely covers her thighs. Plenty of footprints mark the ground around her. He must have been here for a while. I know that there are rules to follow, steps to make sure that I don’t cause her further harm. But I ignore them because the sinking feeling in my stomach tells me I can’t possibly hurt her more than he already has. I nestle her head with one hand while I slide the other under her shoulder. I roll her over. Cold shock knocks the wind out of me. I’ve never seen anybody look like this. I scoop her limp body into my arms, cradling the once beautiful face that I’ve seen in every light—rage to ecstasy and the full gamut in between—yet is now unrecognizable. Placing two blood-coated fingers over her throat, I wait. Nothing. A light pinch against her lifeless wrist.Nothing. Maybe a pulse does exist but it’s hidden, masked by my own racing one. Then again, by the look of her, likely not. One . . . two . . . three . . . plump, serene snowflakes begin floating down from the unseen sky above. Soon, they will converge and cover the tracks, the blood. The evidence.Mother Nature’s own blanket to hide the unsightly blemish in her yard. “I’m so sorry.” I don’t try to restrain the hot tears as they roll down my cheeks to land on her mangled lips—lips I had stolen plenty of kisses from, back when I was too stupid to realize how dangerous that really was. This is my fault. She had warned me. If I had just listened, had stayed away from her, had not told her how I felt . . . . . . had not fallen wildly in love with her. I lean down to steal a kiss even now, the coppery taste of her blood mixing with my salty tears. “I’m so damn sorry. I should never have even looked your way,” I manage to get out around my sobs, tucking the blanket she loved to curl up in over her. An almost inaudible gasp slips out. A slight breeze against my mouth more than anything else. My lungs freeze, my eyes glued to her, afraid to hope. “Alex?” Is it possible? A moment later, a second gasp—a wet, rattling sound—escapes. She’s not dead. Not yet, anyway.   BW Teaser 3   Author PhotoAbout K.A. Tucker: Born in small-town Ontario, K.A.
